I think it’s been well-established that I’m super obsessed with the Rainbow List and the Stonewall awards. Well, guess who’s on the Rainbow List now? ME! THIS CHICK! I SWEAR, IT’S A FACT!

So proud and excited for you!
That is awesome! GO TEAM INGRID!
Naw, naw. I’m all team Abby.
Congratulations! You’ll be awesome!
And say “hi” to Anna White for me! She’s my homegirl. And by homegirl I mean we live and work in the same state and I was on the Stonewall committee with her hubs, the amazing Zeke White
AGH I’m so happy for you. It’ll be a blast.
Oh, cool! I will!
Have you written about your time on Stonewall? I’d be interested to see it.
Not really… I wrote a guest blog for ALSC about how awesome Stonewall books are, but I’m pretty sure I’m preaching to the choir there… http://www.alsc.ala.org/blog/2012/07/celebrating-diversity-with-childrens-books/
Another one of our committee members wrote about the Stonewall awards, how he got involved, and a little of what the process is like in a guest post for Teen Librarian Toolbox… http://www.teenlibrariantoolbox.com/2013/01/guest-blog-stonewall-book-awards-by.html
Sorry I guess we’re just a bunch of guest bloggers. haha!
Hey, congrats! I was on this committee its first two years and it was an amazing experience. Such an opportunity to contribute to the world positively, to read all of the amazing books, and to have a blast! Have the most fun!
Oh cool! Do you have any advice for a n00b like me?
Nah….you’ll be totally fine! Just have fun and don’t get too behind in the reading (duh). And speak your mind, which I can’t imagine you’ll have a problem with. Super excited for you! It’s my fave committee I think I’ve ever been on, and we had no clue what we were doing. I’ll bet it runs so smoothly these days! xxoo
Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated. I am super afraid of getting behind in the reading.
sorry it took so long to reply, btw…didn’t have notifications turned on. doh!
