I took six days off from work and wanted Little Ingrid at the Young Adult Reference desk to recommend books for me while I was gone:

diviners, weetzie bat, the replacement

I find that the books I most recommend at the YA desk are The Diviners by Libba Bray, Weetzie Bat/Dangerous Angels by Francesca Lia Block, and The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff.

When I came back from my days off, I found that someone tacked this to my little cork board, as it is well known amongst the teens that I hate Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger.”

i got the moves like fart face

That is the worst song ever. I hate it with a passion. Like I’ll kick you out for singing it. I don’t know who put this behind the reference desk, but I have a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. So you better watch it.

I also gussied up Mr. Edwin‘s cork board and I think it’s just super festive:

mr. edwin loves kittens

He didn’t say thank you or anything.

~Love and Libraries, Ingrid
